I got inspired to submit a few thoughts to evo after I saw this heart-warming ad by Ebay when I was visiting my facebook.

"free shipping on eBay. Find what you love. Then have it shipped to your door for free. How's that for a holiday cheer?"

The strategy of advertising to transfer human to human emotions to objects started a long time ago. The meaning of words such as love have been reduced in value by advertising to the point of no recognition. Sure, we all say I love you to those we love; but isn't it strange that we use the same word to describe our feelings for the objects we buy as we do for a person?

Perhaps advertising-- by pure conincidence-- is teaching us how to love everything, like the Buddha, love yourself, love the grass, the stars, the moon and the rock, ==even the nasty fruit flies.

So when you are coincidentally exposed to advertising that attempts to take your humanness and relegate it to a material object, think about the Buddha, and say, ahh, I love the fruit fly!
